About Me:
After I found a whole new world in Yoga in 2002, I embarked upon a beautifully different journey.
Through Yoga, I have found Zaadz. Maybe I planted this seed when I visited Holland.
Now, what a fascinating place to be…
Where I am:
Gardening. The world's oldest profession. (Me)
I have owned my garden design company, Salvia Garden Design, for the past four years or so. My business is based on the use of native plants, the emphasis on wildscaping, utilizing organic growing and maintenance techniques, and consulting work to introduce people to the organic and green lifestyle.
Specializing in small garden design, I use organic techniques that are good for us and our lives, and create natural looking wildscapes using native plants as much as possible. I spend as much of my time as I can doing organic consultations, since I believe that our health and the environment's (and therefore one's garden, no matter how small) are linked together, the way it always has been. I have been trying to promote that sustainable living and the organic lifestyle can be implemented in our exterior as well as our interior lives- from our landscapes, to the interiors of our homes, to our health. I firmly think that it is time for us to stop viewing these things as separate entities. You may have heard of the rapidly expanding idea of integrative medicine. I believe it's time to practice what I call integrative gardening. To acknowledge this is to protect our rapidly vanishing soil: through our landscapes, we can build the health of all our resources; protect our own health, and therefore our planet. One of my current projects is an intensive audio-visual seminar detailing my research and experiences.
So the business was quite successful, but as many of you know, owning your own business is difficult. My convictions and beliefs remain the same, but along with the other changes in my life, it is now time to pursue some new employment options. So I am here to find those who might enable me to choose my life occupation. Yes, I need a job- but one I can truly live with. Along the way, I hope that I might impart some of my wisdom to others, gained through my life experiences, and to join in on something special that I think all of us here share.
Where I've Been:
There Are No Coincidences. (life lesson)
I began and was taught in wonderfully historic San Antonio, and lived much of my life there. I mostly studied music and horticulture. I lived in Austin for 2 ½ years and enjoyed every minute of it. Then I moved to Dallas…
Having music in my life and heart has changed everything about me, and helped me learn the truth of the above lesson. Being a member of the Turtle Creek Chorale is possibly my greatest musical achievement, and has taught me volumes on living, loving, and being- and what it means to truly share non-judgmental love to anyone who hears our music. Greater bridges have been built by this organisation than politics or anything else could ever hope to create. http://www.turtlecreek.org/ The Chorale has brought me love, friendship, and much beauty into my life.
Where I'm Going:
Not all those who wander are lost. (Tolkien)
I have lived in Dallas for the past 14 years, and it seems it has reached the end of its useful contribution to me, and it appears I will leave it in the near future. San Antonio is not really where I wish to return, and I won't even mention Houston (sorry, those who love it). Therefore it would seem returning to Austin, and the nearby Hill Country, is my most viable choice…
Now, I'm beginning life again at 44, as I am leaving a 19 year relationship behind, and beginning a new journey. I am on my way to a new life and a new purpose.
2006. The Year of Change. C H A N G E. 6 Letters. Hmmm.
“Dear God, you are inside of me, within my very breath, within each bird, each mighty mountain.
Your sweet touch reaches everything and I am well protected.
Thank you God for this beautiful day before me.
May joy, love, peace and compassion be part of my life and all those around me on this day.
I am healing and I am healed.”
An Ayurvedic prayer.
This is all under construction, as am I: be patient with the Gemini, this and I will change…for I am in true transition….
